[Hi Sabers, have a somewhat unusual post from Draco, since up to this point all of his other journal entries have been in written format.

Not this one, though. He doesn't really sound like himself either, for all that he enjoys regularly storming out onto the deck and announcing things to the world at large -- which is basically what he's currently doing yet again.

But this entry is without his usual snark; he sounds more urgent than anything, and maybe a touch frazzled, as his voice comes bellowing out of the journal pages.]

Link?! Luka, Tojiko, Itachi, bloody hell, all of you.

I NEED A CREW MEETING. Now!


[And action option, of course: he's on the deck of the Sea Princess, arms crossed over his chest and foot tapping in an impatient, agitated sort of way.]

[Blinks at the pair of them, looking somewhat confused at the fact that they have their swords drawn, before it occurs to him that maybe he should've at least sort of clarified in all his yelling that everything was okay so he didn't end up giving his entire crew a panic attack.

...Oops.

He manages to look vaguely sheepish.]

What? No, of course we're not, do see anyone attacking us?

[Gestures around.]

It's nothing like that, just. Listen, my mother is here!

[Link straightened, his sword arm dropping - but the sword not going away - as his eyebrows scrunched and he looked between Draco and Papa Link.]

[This Link does sheath his sword, serious expression fading to one of mild confusion. Of course Draco could be a panicky little... something or other... But really, now!]

Defend me from her? Don't be mad. No, the problem is...

[Hesitates, frowning a little, before he huffs.]

The problem is she doesn't know me, she's a bloody teenager. She's hardly older than I am!

[Link frowned and sheathed his sword.]

You made it sound like it was something dangerous.

Yes, you certainly did...

[The elder's voice carries a note of disapproval. Dammit, boy, we are on a pirate ship!]

Though I confess that that would be a bit... strange.

...Right, sorry.

[Looks sheepish again, and tries to cover it by rubbing the bridge of his nose.]

I need to figure out what to do, is all. She has to sail with us, but I can't tell her who I am, terrible things can happen when people learn too much about their future! Or -- what if it's too late? What if her being here at all is going to change things so much that I'm never even born?!

[THE HORROR.]

That's not how it works. I went back home and didn't remember this place at all. It won't change anything back in your world.

Yes, timeshifting does not work normally, here. It does not seem that you can affect the future.

Even so, that's a lot to throw at a person, don't you think? She doesn't need to know that much about her future, even if she might not remember that she knows it when she returns home. And what if she doesn't want to know?

Then you ask her if she would want to know about her future if she could. If she does, you tell her. If she doesn't, you don't.

[Link set a hand on his hip, getting a more than a little annoyed now. Draco was throwing all these what-if's out instead of just coming up with a good solution. There were plenty of ways and the what-if's wouldn't help if none of them actually happened.]

But none of that matters until she's here and we've talked to her. Stop trying to come up with solutions to problems we don't have and might never have. Find solutions to the ones we do. You need to get her here first so we can protect her.

[Link tips his head slightly.]

But the best you can do is just that. [He nodded toward the younger Link, indicating his idea.] Tell her you know her from the future. You can keep your calm in a tense situation, right, Draco?

[Is that a glint of a mischievous smirk in the elder's eye? Maayyybe.]

[Scowls a little. Sure, keep his calm, of course...]

It is a problem we have, or at least I do, and I've already talked to her and told her I'm someone else for now. It seemed the best course of action at the time. She's skeptical enough about this place, and I've no reason to think she would even believe me over the journals. I'm nothing but a random voice who happens to know too much about her life, it's altogether very suspicious.

[Props his hands up on his hips, looking from one Link to the other.]

You needn't lecture me, I simply called everyone here to ask for advice. I'm sorry if you don't think it's an issue worth worrying about, but it is for me. I'm supposed to go meet with her soon and -- and it's going to be really weird.

[Link crossed his arms and huffed. 'Really weird'. Yeah sure, Draco had the monopoly on that. It wasn't like Link hadn't left the ship and come back WAY TOO BIG or anything. He didn't know anything about stuff being 'really weird'. He would love to meet the Great Deku tree at a younger age because it would mean the Deku Tree wasn't dead. Yet.

Plz excuse the 10 year old, Draco. He has 10 yr old issues to deal with. He's going to go deal with them somewhere else because you're being a stupid head.]

[A small laugh as the elder Link raises an eyebrow.]

Perhaps backhandedly poking fun for your... graceful use of the journal, but not scolding. In all seriousness, I think you should do as you see fit. You know your mother better than anyone.

[Turns up his nose and sniffs.]

I could have included my usual salutations, but I was rather in a hurry.

[Then he lets the haughty expression drop and just lets out a breath, looking suddenly uncertain.]

I know her some twenty-odd years later, I've never had to deal with her as a teenager before. ...But first time for everything, I suppose, yeah?
